Do you wash out the hull or not?

I have searched on here and a lot of guys say they wash off their engine while others say not to because it could cause damage. I have everything covered in fluid film and I reapply every couple of rides. Should I be washing it off before I reapply? Aside from spraying water into the air filter or hosing down a hot engine, what could be damaged? I would hope that something meant for the water would have waterproof connectors and stuff. It should be built to get wet, right?

I have an 07 fxho cruiser, and I never rinse the inside of hull or engine with anything. Too many electrical cannectors and your just washing dirt or dirt+salt into delicate connectors . When I bought ski (new) I coated everthing with Boshield t-9. I do follow-up coatings 2 times a riding season. So far, no rust or other decay.

Wash it down mate or forever regret it. Its all common sense i have done hundreds of hrs over many skis i pressure wash the engine after every ride i have never had a problem with water effecting anything. My skis look as new as the day i brought them.

I light wash down will do no harm. I always try to do it, especially after riding in salt.

Fluid film will help protect the motor A LOT.

+1 I ride in fresh water and don't wash the inside of my hull because there just isn't a lot of dust on the water where i live LOL. When i go to the beach and ride in the ocean i spend a lot of time rinsing everything i can spray with fresh water after every ride. its hard to spray under the motor but you can spray the bottom and bounce water up on it. then i leave the seat off so everything can dry off and as soon as i can get it in fresh water i ride it for about an hour to fully flush all the salt water out of the motor and everything else.

Duh... it's a marine engine. Just kidding. It doesn't hurt as long as you don't go crazy. I've cleaned mine with Simple Green then lightly sprayed off followed with silicone spray.
