    Starter bendix which way?

Helping Chad put a new motor in that tiny helped him get for a customer's boat. It's an 06 challenger. Can someone let us know which way this gear goes back on? Which pic that is.

last pic is correct. But you need to make sure they align the correct way, the bendix and the gear have a slot.

Bringing this back up from the past.

Slow 91 says last pic is correct which shows flat part of gear towards motor

    Shop manual shows the opposite.

I have read some other posts that also say flat part towards motor and that the manual was printed wrong.

I cannot remember what direction mine was when I removed over the winter.

So big question which direction is correct for the gear?

    Thanks
