Does a FZS really have room for 3 people?

I'm really wanting to get back on the water, haven't since 2010 when I sold my stx15f. I've since gotten married and have a 10 year old stepson. I would really like a 2014 FZS but I need something the whole family can ride comfortably. Should I just get a Fx Sho instead or can the FZS work?

The fzs is very tight with three. And rides horrible 3 up. If you are planning to ride 3 up often buy the fx series I'm certain everyone will agree.

    I think of the fzr as a 1 1/2 seat and the fzs as a 2 1/2.

Agreed, you will be best off with the FX-SHO for three up.
Or if your budget allows, consider getting two skis; we have always bought them in pairs and that will give you the freedom of riding your own ski while the wife and son are on the water with you. If budget won't allow, you have another option; you might search for a pair of used Yamahas with the extended 5 year warranty.

The FZS rides with myself, daughter and wife just fine for the amount of cruising with 3 we do, actually had 4 on it and it was fine also. I wouldn't buy a FX personally as the hull wasn't for me but if you are always going to be 3 up or riding in the ocean then it's the way to go.

Looking at both myself , and curious how they compare with ride and does one do better as far as a dry ride if you dont want to get wet ? Will be just me and my wife on it most of the time . Only ski i have ever owned was the seadoo 4tec years ago.. We like both the fx sho and fzs.... ? cant decide...

really three up is all about the size of the people... if you plan to ride three all the time I would just buy 2 skis!

Why would anyone want a dry ride? If you want a dry ride, get a boat

Well if I could afford two skis I would. Rather pay for one tank of gas as well. Sounds to me as long as your not very big which me nor my wife and child are, you can ride a FZS 3 up on a lake.
