    Yea-watch for snags, and low water levels.
    What boats are you riding-fuel economy? I PM'd you who to contact that has done this ride. Me? I got bored going North at about the Needles Bridge, so I turned around at the Avi Casino, and headed home. I just remember there were a few shallow spots, and a few logs sticking out of the water, south of the Needles bridge, and North of Topock.

    We'll see how this goes. I cant believe no one else is planning on making this run. But, sounds like it is quite a trip with possible shallows. going to try and find a group or boat to follow. We don't want to wreck the new Skis. Also, might just Trailer down to Havasu on Sunday A.M. to try and save some heat fatigue to give us more time on the lake. I'll update with results. Yell if you know any others going.

    The problem is; you will most likely need to refuel. You didn't tell us what boat you have?

    That's a great idea since you've never done it before! Strap a small cooler to your ski and prepare for a lot of sun. I rode from Laughlin all the way to the sandbar just North of Havasu 6yrs ago. Actually, I turned around at the sandbar because night was getting closer. Its a long haul so you won't want to run WOT all day, however, there is some gas at a small bar just underneath Hwy 40 overpass....which is just across from "Pirate's Cove". That cove is a great place to grab some shade and food (also a general store there). This is all just North of Topock Gorge. Back up closer towards Laughlin (South of Laughlin) is the AVI hotel/casino right on the river - they have a gas station but that wont do you much good unless you have cans with you.

    Anyway, its a great ride overall as you pass through all the little river towns and basically join in all the fun of the boats and other knuckleheads along the way. I'd say the worst part of a haul like this is dealing with the boat chop. Yes, be very cautious of all the shallow areas...they will come and go throughout the day as water levels change from the Dam activity.

    Bring some tow rope for emergency and some cash/credit for food and gas. What skis are you riding with??
    I'm actually free that weekend....trying to decide where I'll spend it hmmmm

    The other caution I'd add to this trip is to be prepared to see a lot of traffic here and there....lots of newbies and "kids" on jetskis everywhere and powerboats blazing through the mix. When I'm out there and its crowded, I just pretend that everyone driving is drunk (drive very defensively!). Keep your eyes peeled and don't drive like a newbie

    When I did this trip 5yrs ago, I left Avi with a full tank - my 05 RXP was all stock. Took my time going downstream for a few hours....did only a little WOT, made a handful of sightseeing stops along the shore and had a passenger with me. If my memory is accurate, I had 1/4 tank at the sandbar just South of Topock Gorge...

    I cruised back up to Hwy 40 (by Pirate's Cove) and got fuel at the shithole bar under the overpass. I either filled up, or close to it.....hauled ass back to Avi (lots of WOT and boat racing - to beat sundown) and I made it with plenty of daylight to spare and a lot of fuel remaining (maybe 1/2 tank???).

ID:	310855Things have changed along the river significantly since then. The Topock Marina has been rebuilt. Pirates Cove is now a "resort" with on water refueling and docks. I don't know that Topock Marina has fuel anymore. I do know that the Avi Casino has on water fuel, with docks-but the last time I was there, a few years ago-they only had Regular.
    So, basically he could go Laughlin, to Pirates Cove(eat), then from there to Havasu is only 22 miles(roughly), were he can get fuel at the Marina, on the South side of the Island(premium too), OR, head across the Lake to the California side, and get gas/food, at the Havasu Landings Casino.
    Here's a picture of the ride I did today, from Body Beach, to Pirates Cove, and back;
