On the fly switchable intake system.

Now i know this has been a hot topic lately and i've been thinking about my own setup and since i want to have the performance and sound of a rear SC to outside intake but the "waterproof" safety of a stock setup i had to think hard about it. I have the answer. A friend of mine has a turbocharged honda with an electronic cutout so he can roam unharrassed by the fuzz but when he goes to the track or wants to run someone on the street he hits a switch and presto! Open exhaust is achieved. So i figured why not for an intake? It's a nicely built somewhat compact unit but the downfall is it's high price. Around $200-$250. But once you look at the possibilities it opens up(no pun intended) it's a pretty trick piece. Just a though. I will definetly be designing this into my intake. I'll try to find the link to the cutout and there are a few different ones. I'm trying to find the smallest one i can. This is gonna be sweet.

That is a good idea. Here is something that would allow you to create any kind of intake desired. Only problem is the $$$

Look at it like this. You'd spend a little bit more than a Riva cold air kit by the time you buy the rest of the pieces but you get a much more versatile product afterwards. Not to mention the sheer James Bond like bling factor.

I'm completly on board with this. If I had the money and welder I'd be on this today. I can't wait to see what someone comes up with.

    I love this idea!

You would need another one to be wired the opposite way so it would shut off the sotck intake when the other one opens and vice versa.

Come on Hulkster, get on this!!

I wouoldn't think you would need to close your stock air duct? Just
open up more outside air with this mod and shut it. In turn it would yield the same results.
