    300x cracked spark plug

Anybody ever heard of any issues with OEM plugs on this ski? A buddy of mine who has the same ski, with the same minor mods, had one of his plugs bust while he was riding, and it toasted his motor. Not sure of the extent of the damage, but it's looking like a new motor. Only 11 hrs on it, and it has been very well taken care of.

find it hard to believe that a broken plug is going to toast a motor

I would think at only 11 hours Warranty would cover it. If its never been messed with!! also at 11 hours the original plugs installed by Kawasaki should still be in there.

The stock plugs are stout and don't just fail for no reason - I would suspect detonation occurred

Ford had a big problem of this happening in a few of their truck as well as other companies. A broken spark plug will kill a motor in a hearbeat. Valves, pistons, rods....bam!!!

Who knows what it was, the unfortunate thing about today's gas is that its not always labled correctly. You could take the best of care of your ski but one shitty fill up and it could cost ya. I've never heard of a 300 plug failing like that to cause the damage but anythings possible.....

Plugs can fail, i've seen this 1st hand, the ceramic insulator that surrounds the center electrode broke, causing a misfire, fortunately it didn't drop into the cylinder because the earth electrode stopped it, if it had dropped then i suspect it would have caused quite a bit of damage. This wasn't on a Kawi though it was on a polaris msx with not so many hours on it.
