    Keihin CDCV fuel pump diaphragm? (STX1100)

    I'm helping my buddy get his 99 Kawasaki STX1100 running. We ordered a rebuild kit for his 3 CDCV carbs and rebuilt them all. The only crumby looking piece on the carbs was the pulse diaphragm and gasket for the single fuel pump on the end of the carb rack, the gasket was completely disintegrated and separated from the cellophane diaphragm. After re-looking thru a bunch of these kits online...it seems that none of them come with this one diaphragm or gasket. Whats the scoop on this? Why don't the kits come with this part? Anyone know the part numbers for the diaphragm and gasket needed to rebuild the fuel pump on this carb set up?

    Perhaps someone else can confirm, but I'm almost certain you have to buy the pump, 59336-3715 CASE, PUMP, cuz' Kawasaki doesn't sell a rebuild kit for it.

    Crap...I think I see what your saying. The pump seems to be a sealed unit, non rebuildable (though it came apart easily with some allenhead screws) So according to this microfiche...I would be looking for part 59336 (59336-3715)?

    Since these carbs are POS's, I would advise my buddy not to invest in it, better to get some CDKII's. Meanwhile, I wonder if anyone out there may have a good used pump to sell, to get us thru the end of the summer?

    Very good question. Not sure if it's Kawasaki or Keihin. I've thought that if (when) I face this problem, I'm going to try a Mikuni fuel pump.

    The CDKII carbs used an accelerator pump on the 1100 engine. Guess what else you can't buy...

    You bought the complete fuel pumps? Yes, those are available, but the parts are not.

    Well we pulled the carb rack last night and found the crankcase to be full of fuel...we definitely have a problem here. I'm guessing either the fuel pump diaphragm is torn or one of the boots on one of the carb slides is not seated, sucking fuel into the vacuum side of the carb system. OR...I think my buddy may have had the hoses connected wrong on the carb rack, but he insists they weren't. He pulled them off before I could see them, so I don't know for sure. What a PITA!

    The diaphram is part number 43028A isnt it? that whole kit shown in the exploded view above? 59336 is just the housing if I remember right. I bought 43028A a few years go to repair my STX1100 fuel pump.

    43028A is part of the typical gasket rebuild kit. If you look closely at the picture, 59336 is actually a two piece unit that is not supposed to be taken apart (though we did). It sandwiches another gasket and diaphragm, which is not sold separately.

    Anyone out there have a used pulse pump for the CDCV carbs they would like to sell?
