    Something went boom...

I have a 2010 RXT-X 80 hours. BOught this ski about 2 mnths ago. Everything has been great,= Was cruising today around 45 and all of a sudden. The motor made a very high pitched sound and stopped. I turned it off and tries to restart and the motor sounds horrible, I looked at the temp and it was around 209.. Pulled the dip stick oil looked good. Got towed in from my friend and got it loaded. Looked around the bilge and all looks good except for a little oil residue,

Where do I start. Thanks in advance
    Chris

    Welcome aboard the Hulk!!!

So after the high pitched noise you shut off the ski.
So it was still running after the high pitched noise or did it shut itself off??

It was still running but would just rev up a little and not move. It didnt sound good so i didnt try but once or twice. Wasnt going anywhere. When you tow ski does it collect water (little bit) in the bilge. When i got the ski on the trailer i noticed it had a lot 2-3 inches of water in the bilge. When this first happened on the water i lifted the seat and didnt notice any water coming in..

It almost sounded like a spun prop sound but worse..

Did you check out the jet pump? I bet you either sucked something up or spun off the prop.

I got underneath and looked at the driveshaft and prop where the wear ring is. Looked fine. Is there a way to lift the rear gate and the jet pump to check out things inside

You've got an issue in your pump or drive line...
Didn't the 2010 rxtx 260s have a junk drive shaft??
Bet yours just spun off the splines...

    Over 200+ is too high.
You probably were not sucking enough water thru the pump to cool her down.

Read post #4 here for iBr Gate Override procedure to lift gate and to remove pump, etc: http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=163020

Sounds like the drive shaft splines and impeller splines failed. If you have original 2010 drive shaft components, this was a common failure. That is why they went back to the tried and tested c-clip style set up.

Raise the gate. Follow the procedures I posted in the link to the How To section, and remove the pump, remove the impeller and check the splines of the drive shaft and impeller closely.
Take pictures and post them for us to see.

    Normal temp is 190ish, BTW.
