Anyone running e85
E85 is available here locally and a lot of drag cars are running it.... lower engine temps, higher resistance to detonation aprox 105 octane, burns cleaner so less deposits in combustion chamber and in oil.... a lot cheaper than race fuel... I know you have to increase fuel delivery by about 30% but I've seen 2 pistons I the last week crack in half due to detonation and its not pretty...... so has anyone had any luck with e85

Interested in this as well. I run E85 in my turbo Camaro with great results.

Anything with Higher Octane will Produce Less Detonation like anything else. E85 you will Have to Increase Fuel, Bigger Injectors,Fuel Pump and I would Definately advise to go with a aftermarket Ecu with Full Timming adjustability. I think E85 Is a good Fuel Safe On Motor Lower Burning Points but It does have a bad Habbit of retaining Moisture leading to Inconsistantsy. I would Look into Higher Octane Fuel and A more Adjustable Ecu. Right Now Im running Pump Gas and 20 Psi Boost with No Issues

E85 is very inconsistent and difficult to tune unless the system is designed to measure the Exx content.

Ahhh.... OK.... shrab ur running 93 with no additives?

better fuel pump, larger injectors, a way to control fueling and a way to measure AFRs and you're golden. You need to go way richer to compensate for that fuel. In a boosted 3.8 I went from a max of 11.4 to 10.8. V-TECH will know where to put the ski at but I'd assume mid 11s WOT would be fine with a stock X-SC since 12.2 seems to run nicely. Definitely verify that though

shrabber your loosing so much hp running pump junk
the 1/3 number is way off that number is for NA
its closer to 50% under higher boost
so to take advantage of the extra octane with the stock ecu I use a voltage clamp so the ecu keeps the advance up
when using the motec you can add lots of timing
here in the north the ethanol amount can be as low as 70% but the lowest I have ever tested was 80% in mid January and as high as 90%
Andy the fix for X factor is testing every time you get fuel and my fix is getting my ethanol from the factory where they never change the %
I use the walbro replacement pump and it is keeping up good with 51psi base
and use all of my 110lbs injectors @ 16.5 lbs boost and 8500 rpms
I have run 25psi on custom blended e-85 @ 9000+ rpms

Ski the beauty of a motec is the ability to achieve the maximum with what you use. Since I'm still in the fill in the pieces mode I choose to get it where I want it. My statement was in general that pump gas can be run on higher boost applications (with the right surrounding components) All I need to do is throw in my Shrabber mix and change my map ahhh motec. If I need power I look in my front glove compartment
