Newbe with ultra 150 crankshaft question

I torn down my new to me 1999 ultra 150 due to a blown piston on number three. In checking everything out I noticed that my crankshaft spins freely the direction that it would normally drive but it will not spin backwards without a little force. I found out the hard way because I had the cylinder off and the piston shirt straddled the edge of the crankcase when I was rolling it over. It would not easily turn backwards to free up the piston. Is this normal? I had to use a little force to spin the crank backwards to free the piston off the edge of the crankcase. Once I got the piston free i noticed it spins one way very freely but it doesn't turn at all backwards by hand. Please PM me if you can help I don't check the site very often and I would like to know as soon as possible as I have the ski apart for a new piston. Also I'm in need of a stock cylinder with head if possible Please PM if you can help

    Welcome aboard, hooka-2!

Sounds like you're turning the crankshaft against the starter drive. It has a one-way clutch.
