    2012 / 2013 SHO Differences

    Looks like they changed up the wiring harness between the 2012 and 2013 FX Cruiser SHO's. Trying to figure out what the difference is. I have the service manual for the 2012 FX. Does anyone have the service manual for the 2013 FX? Anyone know what the differences are between the two years to prompt the wiring harness change?

    6CS-8259L-00-00 WIRE HARNESS ASSY 1 (2012)

    2012 / 2013 FX SHO Differences

    Looks like they may have changed a few things between the 2012 and 2013.

    Are the injectors different sizes between the two years?

    The fuel pump arrangement was different I know because I had to wait for the update when I wanted to put a RRFPR on my 13 FX. Other than that I don't know what could be different.

    Thanks Chuck.

    I noticed the 2013 has a plastic fuel rail instead of the metal one. Now I'm finding different injectors, different wiring harness, what else?

    At the time I was thinking of modding my FX, Jerry, his tech guys, and Riva tech could not answer that question about the ECU flash. They should have an answer by now since they have been out longer.

    Kinda glad I decided to keep my 13 FX stock now. I have the 2011 to throw money at.

    Upon further review it looks like the FX series ECU's may have changed:

    6CS-8591A-00-00 ENGINE CONTROL UNIT ASSY (2012)
    6CS-8591A-20-00 ENGINE CONTROL UNIT ASSY (2013)

    It looks like these changes aren't just FX related. Looks like the changes hit the FZ series as well. Different ECU's, different wiring harness, different injectors as well.

    Does anyone know if the ECU / Flashes for the prior models are compatible with the 2013 skis?

    Same questions. Has anyone had experience with reflashing (R3), to a 2013 ECU? Are the injectors possibly larger, or better in any way? Maybe the 2013 changes were a transition to the 2014 specs?

    ive put one on a friends 2013 fzr its great so another difference i can add is that the adjustable cam gears cant fit the 2013 because the ends of the cam a a different size an theres none for the 13's yet

    Sorry for the late response. I spoke to Glen at R&D and got response from Jerry via PM. From what I understand the injectors are indeed different but flow the same as the old injectors. Wiring harness change had to happen at minimum because the plugs for the injectors changed, there could be other changes as well. They both said the 2012 and 2013 FX ECU's are interchangable as far as flashes go. Didnt ask about the FZ but I would assume the same there as well.
