    Fuel Tank Check Valves

I have a 2002 Virage I 800 DI fuel injected. I was having a problem with major, I mean major air blow back when opening the fuel tank. I replaced the vacuum check valve and now it does not have any blow back. Before I changed it, the engine (only ran out of water with water hook up new ski to me) would act like it was not getting fuel and stall or Baugh. How much does the pressure in tank effect the running on this machine? How much pressure should be in tank? Thanks

    Welcome

The vacuum check valve should not affect the level of positive air pressure inside the fuel tank. If you replaced the vacuum check valve and it did affect air pressure in the tank, I would be confirming that it was not installed backwards.

There is a second pressure relief check valve which vents to the outside via a rubber hull fitting. That valve is supposed to limit air pressure increase inside the fuel tank to 2PSI or less.

See my signature links for common service and maintenance items on the Ficht fuel injected engines.

In particular the TPS, fuel pressure, and water injection solenoid.

Ok. If there was too much pressure in the tank or not enough, would it effect running of machine?

When she runs and I hold the throttle at 3-4000 rpm she skips. I found that she has an old tps and I see you suggest replace it so I ordered one. She has 22 lbs fuel pressure and 30 when squeezed fuel line. She will scream after 4000 rpm. I am thinking tps. What do you guys think.
