Is the bore and stroke the same? Just added HP by way of ecu tuning? Or is the engine block and head different? Between the 260 and 300X?

i dont comment when i dont know 100% rick bore and stroke makes no difference to the head!! head appeared to be same when i have had them apart, but i havent sat them side by side. there is a difference in bolt in items i know that much a quick search shows differing part number so who knows!!(the op could have done this)

The main differences are valves and how the belt tensioner attaches witch will require modification on a 260 head it would not really be worth the effort IMO.

pretty sure the mounts are the same on the head tommy just an extra bracket. the op could transfer his running gear across.

the op's warped head just doesnt sound right to me, it must have been bloody very hot. why wouldnt he just get it decked?

If the head is badly warped. It shouldn't be decked to get it flat. Reason is that the head surface is machined parallel with the cam bores. If the sealing surface is warped, then so are the cam bores. If you surface the head that way, the cam bores will be permanently warped.

When we see this in the shop, we put the head in the press and get it back to as straight as possible. Then when we get it real close we surface it.
