Is anyone running a rrfpr referenced only to boost?
Hey guys, my charger is due for a rebuild in 20 or so hrs and I plan to chuck an et127 in it at the same time. Instead of running bigger injectors I'm thinking of tapping the sc outlet for a nipple and using that for a rrfpr reference. Theoretically this should be able to keep my idle and low afrs close to stock and only add a bit of fuel under boost. Anyone done this?

most use rrfpr
I would not run any boost motor with out a rrfpr and a afr gauge

That will work fine, I run mine that way.

Chris, yes I will run a rrfpr just minus vaccum, boost only, and yes with a wideband.
Thanks psycho, did you do as I plan to and tap the charger housing?

IMO, do not reference the line at the SC...it will always be under a boost load, and will spike when the throttle closes...
Since you have an 03 GTX setup, your manifold did not have the OEM intercooler...just the flame arrestor......Either drill/tap the center cap at the front of the manifold for a reference line, or get a used 215 manifold and put a Riva Intercooler blockoff in, using the tapped hole for a reference...
And get the Jpipe bunged for AFR readings...

the vacuum can lean out the idle if needed when you raise the base fuel psi

Yeah j pipe is definitely getting bunged. Was just keen to try set it up so the midrange wasn't too fat for better economy running offshore, but if that's how it has to be that's fine.

i do this but i run it off the intake manifold...NOT the Scer....i am also running a fuel controller...that way i can eliminate the reference line

All good points, I was thinking about it as a turbo, but as danny said it will be making boost even with low load so that will throw things right off. Will just reference it off the manifold, and if needed get a cmd or similar at some stage. Not looking for huge power or speed just more mid punch for ocean and wave jumping really.
