Time to Mod my GTR 215
I'm now looking at modding my GTR 215, however I do not want to go the whole hog and change charger etc, I was thinking of the following and any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm a newbie to this modding side of things.
Vtech Tune 8400 rpm
4" Air Intake
Throu Hull Exhaust
Ideally I want to get past the main restrictors that are on the ski, also I've heard about ride plates??? any info on these please, I have read other threads but got information overload so I thought I'd ask as a new thread.
Thanks in advance

8400 may be pushing your luck with the stock valve train
also you may not be able to spin the stock prop that high

no it should be good because you may not spin up high enough to hurt it (with out a prop change)
IMO stock you may get you near 8300
with the v-tech you can change the limiter to what ever you want
so see what your max rpm is on flat water and then set the limit 100 over that

The only trouble I see when modding a GTR it doesn't appear that much of anything is developed hull wise. It's all engine related.

I wouldn't change the tune without upgrading valve springs and retainers. Not to mention on a stock charger you won't see the gains with the higher RPMs since you'll be trying to spin higher without the mods to turn the prop to see the gains. If you want reliable just add a 137mm charger or et 127 with injectors and prop. best bet is larger charger, injectors, prop and ext ic

Do a search on my threads...vtech 8400 tune, no valvetrain upgrade, air intake, no thru hull unless you want noise and drill a hole, ride plate is a great mod. No injectors needed with this setup...everyone thinks this 215 has 42s....it has 48s! Same as the 260s etc. But you will see 71-72 possibly 73. Stock prop.

Once you catch the modding disease the only cure is more mods....
