    Polaris 780 Electrical Box Wireing

Hi everyone, im new to the forum, but I just picked up a 96 slx with the 780, which needed a rebuild. When i pulled the electrical box open, i found 3 wires that werent connected to anything. Im guessing this is wrong. the yellow one is on the blade connector board, the one underneath the yellow comes from a box inside the e-box, and the one on the edge comes from the front of the jet ski... ill trace it tommorow. I dont know if you can tell what wires they are from the picture, but if anyone has some close ups of their wires for a 780, id be very greatful. Thanks!

Your circuit board is labelled with the colors where the individual wires should go. All pinks go on the pnk terminal. The short wire coming into the box looks tan to me. Find the tan terminal. The gray wire goes on the gray terminal right next to the LR module it comes from.

That yellow wire should not be on the pink terminal. Find the yellow terminal.

Pretty straight forward really.... Unless of course you have some varying degree of colorblindness...

Sometimes these wires can fade from factory original and look like another color.

Often a female will have more accurate (or just different) color perception. Never hurts to have a second pair of eyes look at the problem!

It's possible. We recently found out my son has colorblindness tendencies. See if you can identify the object in this picture....

just opening a polaris ebox makes me dizzy.

another money saving ( for them) stupid design. it just needed a bunch of 10 pin connectors and the entire terminal baord concept would be moot.

I guess the designers came from the boat indutry where almost everything is done this way.

my advice, clean it up real good then keep in mind the terminal boardjust serves to make electrical connection..no magic going on behind the board.

Being new here, I'll warn you to pay very very careful attention to the battery. If the ebox touches the hot side terminal, you'll smoke the harness in a flash of blinding light and acrid smoke.

Watch it when you assemble the box, wires pinched in the cover often fail after an hour or two of running, with unhappy results. Be sure the gasket is in the channel.
