    2006 GP1390R need new jet pump...any recommendations?

Title unfortunately says it all...should I look for something aftermarket like skat-trak pumps etc? Is anything else better than stock for my application? I ride in salt, generally 1 or less feet chop (usually smooth where I ride)...anyways pump in 1 machine has had it. Tightening up the impeller seizes it even after a bearing change. I'm only putting about 60 ft lbs or torque on em. Checked spacing on set-backs, even used a washer to help with moving it off the pump. Impellers install perfectly to other pump...inside lip that holds a bearing is cracked and has moved a tiny bit. I don't really care what it costs, just want to have the best part available for my machine.

    thanks everyone!

    -Mike

I have a skat-trak magnum pump. There is nothing that I have seen that comes remotely close to the bottom end hook up and midrange accelleration that this thing can generate....

Unfortunately, I have lost 2 crankshafts to this pump. I was in closed course practice once and in an endurance race the other time. In both occasions, the pump was on there less than 90 minutes each. Needless to say, they are very hard on a crank.

Which ever piece is defective, be it your shaft or the stator vein, I would suggest that you just replace it.

I have seen a lot of rough water boats break crankshafts due to the loading and unloading of the driveline. I will say that after Yamaha came out with the 2" extension, I havent seen anymore broken crank snouts.

A skat pump is awesome for the rough, but top end will suffer.

Rich, do you have pics of the pumps you said were available? I am also interested in 1 to 2 of the transom plates...figured it'd be better to stock up in case some idiot (namely myself) strips another bolt!

I have a 14 vein set back skat-trak magnum pump I'd sell. It will include correct shaft for the 2003 up GPR, 3 different props and modified exit nozzle for 14 vein stator section.
It would be a great rough water pump setup.
    PM me if interested. -Brian
