05 seadoo rxp will not accelerate on water

    hello
everyone. I am new to this website, not new to the jet ski industry. i have a 05 seadoo rxp with 60 hours, i have had this ski for a year. when i put the ski in the water it will run on idle like max 1800 rpm and it will not accelerate. when i pulled it out of the water i will run up to 6000-7000 rpms. did anyone had these problems, i know about the supercharger washers that need to be replaced but is there anything else this can be? thanks

First thing I would do is pull the air intake hose going into the sc and check to see if the sc wheel will spin if it does your clutch washers are gone.

What does the ski do while you try to accelerate?

While in the water, if you hold it wide open, the engine stays at idle--at 1800rpm? Does it feel like it is trying to rev up but something is holding it back or does it not respond at all?

thanks for the post mothman i try to give it some power and it dies on the water, yes the engine stays at idle speed, on water. But on land i can hit 7000rpms it does feel like it wants to rev but it can't.

Try a new set of spark plugs. Pull your dip stick and check the oil level too. Around 2/3's between bends is where you want to keep it. I would pull the oil filter out and look between the paper folds for excess metal shavings.
    Good luck!
