    Offshore debut!

We did not catch a single keeper but I did catch a lifetime of memories in just one day. I am so lucky to be a 35 year old man who's father is willing to fish with him, off a ski, in the Gulf of Mexico. Launched out of Fourchon, La. and went approximately 15 miles out. It was so calm that you would think we were fishing in a lake.Click image for larger version.

Good deal...I see you have an Ultra 250, have you done any pump upgrades to this ski?

it is possible to have some of your best days even when you come home with an empty cooler. you had a great day being on the water with your pops, anything else would have been just a bonus.

Thanks Brian! Aqua I was hoping no one noticed the ultra because I am a seadoo guy but I just got it. That was my first trip on it. No I have not done any mods to it. Now that it has been brought up that I have one I have to apologize on an earlier post that I argued that the seadoo was a better offshore ride than a Kawasaki. The Kawasaki is way more of a comfortable ride. I will say the seadoo is way more stable though.

You NEED to upgrade to the 300 pump set up...The 250 pump set up is very weak...and if the pump takes a dump it takes the motor out too.....ask me how I know....

Ouch! Well that is not good news considering the steering cables and the reverse cable broke on me the first attempt on taking it out. That was a 700$ fix. Is this something I can do myself (with a little GH guidance)? I'm sick of spending so much on these things every time something breaks.

Yes it isnt to hard, do a lil searching in the Kawi section, I think the parts run about $200-$250.....the labor you can do on your own if you have some mechanical skills....whats the inside the motor bay look like?....better yet just do some looking around in the Kawi section....the Ultras need a little EXTRA post ride care to keep them running good....

Thanks for the heads up! I appreciate it. Heading over to that section now.
