    70mph slx780

Hey guys! New to this forum. So here thd gig. I got given a 1996 SLX 780 for free! It lost a cylinder and the guy just wanted it gone. I was wondering what it would take to have this be a 70 mph ski? I have been trying to track down some triple pipe and I am going to talk to a local engine builder. Just a little go fast project. Any input would help! Cheers!

Fix it, sell it and buy a different ski if you want to go 70 mph.....

It would take an act of god to make it go 70. 60 is realistic though. A triple piped 1200 will barely reach 70

    Welcome

Attempting to get one of these hulls to run 70 mph is not what I would call a little project. Not only would it take a lot more power than the stock engine produces, but the SL hull will be a handling challenge at those speeds.

Thinking I may keep it and throw 3 new pistons on it. I mean I got it for free. Ive been looking online for engine kits. Whats the consensus on this sbt in Florida?

You want the whole engine or just pistons from them?

Not sure. Gonna tear the motor down tonight. Its been sitting outside for a while with one cylinder off. Maybe would be better to slap a whole motor in it?
