hard to get perspective from the camera tommy, but my call would be light chop with a rolling small swell. not smooth, but not medium somewhere between.

smooth i would class as glass with the pump staying hooked.

At the beginning of the video it seemed pretty smooth. I wish I could see a day like that once in a while on the Great Lakes. Later in the video you could tell it was rough. Eating a few waves sure gave it away. I will post what I was riding in this afternoon tomorrow. It was as shitty as I have ever seen it. 2-3 footers coming from every direction. Very little distance between them. It was one of those days where you just play around on the waves and not really try to go any where. I dont think my GPS logged a speed much over 40 MPH. I think I would have injured/thrown if I tried to go any faster.

Excellent comment Bryan! I want to see that too! I rode on Lake Michigan several times last summer and had some great days but others were unbelievable--lots worse than Fires video above.

Here you go this was exactly that this day. Prospective is hard from cameras they don't give a true look.

The first video above was 2-3ft at 6 seconds according to the Buoy data. At 2-3 ft at anything under a 7 second interval no one is going wot not even Craig Warner. Avg speed over distance will ultimately show the water conditions. Remember size of wave is not as important as duration.

Was thinking 2-2.5ft @ 4-5sec , which is a workout at 45-50 mph if u can get up on top of the sets in the right direction , I prefere into the waves anyday

    Here you go.

Rough for me is getting water over the front all the time. If you don't get a face full of water it's just chop.

some footage from a mate he has the rxpx this is a 200km ride we do through some local lakes the footage around the 1min mark is taken from my ski the mirror is in the lower frame, this is what i class as rough and taxing on the body, by the way this is wind blown water no swell as its inland waters, the lake is only around 3m deep which doesnt take much wind to mess it up.
