    non exciting back creek report

most of my responsibilities in life were taken care of yesterday so i was able to fish today, unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate. we had threats of thunderstorms all day. instead of fishing my usual haunts in the delaware bay, i decided to go to fortescue creek and beat up on the spot, croaker, drum, striper, sea bass population.

i got to experience my first "jetski ignorance" incident. the place i launched from is back woods to say the least. i pulled up to the bait shop and some "locals" saw my ski. they didn't acknowledge me, but were talking among themselves. one guy said "what is he gonna do if that thing sinks?". I replied with "swim just like i did when my boat sank".... they didn't have any more questions or concerns while i was there.

i fished the outgoing tide using bloodworms and it was pretty much drop and reel fishing most of the day. i caught juvenile stripers, puppy drum, spot, black pearch, croakers, toadfish, and sea bass. i kept a few croakers and perch for the table. i caught a striper with a jacked up eye.

it wasn't an exciting or extravagant trip, but i got my fishing fix out of it, and a decent dinner to boot. i would have like to go get a limit of flounder or striper, but the weather didn't want me to. if i still had my boat instead of my ski, this trip wouldn't have happened.

    $12.00 for bait
    $10.00 ramp fee
    $10.00 max in fuel
i love fishing off my ski!

And you have dinner out of the whole deal? That tops it off. Good deal!
