Cool can r-12x engine handle the 7100 rpms that f-15x puts out?

I would like to switch out my r-12x map sensor for the map sensor for f-15x map sensor. anyone out there tried this yet?

I think rev limit comes from the ECU I could be wrong and map sensor just the fuel mix to match the position of the butterfly's

Yes they can handle 7100 RPM. HOWEVER I would not do this with the factory valve springs. As mentioned before they are a weak point on these engines. Bruce from Rising Sun here in OZ has had the engine spinning 10,000 rpm+ The MAP sensors are physically different so I am assuming you are planning on pushing the hose from the R12x to the MAP from the 15 and plugging it in leaving the sensor tied to the harness somewhere? Assuming the calibration across the resistor & read voltage is the same, it should work. Not sure what you are trying to achieve though. The ecu is what's called "speed density system" & MAP is Manifold Absolute Pressure and is used in conjunction with the crank angle sensor [RPM] to calculate volume of air entering the engine. This calculation is then used to to trigger the injectors to ensure correct fueling. RPM is calculated through the crank angle sensor and is used to trigger rev limiter. If you want higher rev limit you will need to fit an aftermarket ECU as the BOTH 12 and 15 series engine ECU are not flash loadable. Typically the throttle position sensor is used to richen the fuel mixture during sharp rapid throttle movement. [similar to the accelerator pump on carbie engines]
