WOW! Melting Riva Race Flame Arrestor Batman!

I just pulled my Riva Race Flame Arrestor off. I was looking on the inside of the arrestor and you could see where there was melted spots. I mean not all the way through about you could see where the heat or flame his the spots in the openings and melted the inside of it.

Anyone run one of these and see the same thing? What could be the issue? I am about to switch to the ported and stacked throttle bodies anyways but if I have an issue I would like to find out what it is and fix it first.
