What kind of 650sx flywheel is this?
My '91 650sx lost spark. I replaced the CDI/coil and still nothing. So I replaced the stator. Mine was black and toasty looking... the replacement was very nice looking.
So this was my first time into the front of the engine... and I found this RAD flywheel. Can anybody ID what type it is? I haven't had issues of my battery dying while using this ski (3 seasons now)... so I'm guessing it's a 'Charging' version, right? (instead of 'Total Loss')
Here are pics... the one picture shows some nuts I stuck to the magnets in it to show where they are.
So... when I replaced my cooked stator... with a same-version, good looking one... now I have tons of spark and the ski starts and idles great. But when I get above 1/2 throttle it feels dead... like there is no more throttle above half. I checked the throttle cable and it's fine.
So I'm wondering if it's the timing of the stator. I set it exactly on the mark... which is where my original cooked stator was set to.
Is this correct? Does the RAD flywheel require any advance on the timing?
pic is thru a mirror... but shows marks aligned.

Thats definately a charging flywheel. Good find! I always advanced mine a little bit. But it wasn't really necessary.
