Intercooler and thermostat questions chasin 80...

See my mods below. I got tipped off by another forum member about some of the nice features of my candoo system like max intake, engine, and exhaust temps By the way the candoo system is awesome to view live data and the tech support is equally as good. Can't say enough good things about it and no I'm not getting paid by them! I checked after I rode in about 90 degree +/- air temps/82 degree water and my max intake temp was 107 degrees. My max engine temp was 203 degrees and max exhaust was 188 degrees. Are these good reads? I still have the stock thermostat. What if any benefit would I have by going with a lower temp thermostat and what temp would I /should I install? Is 107 intake temp good with my mods below or should I try to open the restricter or something. I have my water routing pretty much stock with the addition of a groco strainer. Pump to Strainer to IC to exhaust. I did drill my restrictor out to if I remember correctly 5/16" when I did the fizzle install. I have no drive-ability issue at all just trying to tune for best performance. With my current mods I have ran right about 77.2 at 8600 rpm but with a full tank so not sure if that would go up at all with less fuel???. Thinking about sending my prop off to Eric as it was a stock boxed 15/20 non "r" and I really don't know what its pitched at. My goal always was 80 and I not sure what to do next without braking the bank so to speak. I have a 87mm pump nozzle from a later rxp-x. Would that get my rpms up a little higher? Shooting for around 8900 to see where that gets me. Would I lose top speed and gain hole shot or what? Keep in mind I ride in Indiana about 800 feet above sea level if that matters. All advise appreciated.

I don't see a prv in your signature??

Your asking for a trip over the bars and a skip on the water without a prv or 2 if your looking for 80mph..

    Safety.... Then speed.....

I agree. I know it should be done already. After dumping all this stuff I was just looking for at least one bump over 80. My riva grate is still intact but I do check it often. Is the r&d still the first choice for no breakage drama? The prvs' are on my list. Gotta give duke a call already...

your AIT temps are very good
your exhaust temp is normal....a hot spike from no water.
200+ is not going to damage your motor but the ecu may not like it and cut some timing
a 160* t-stat is not very expensive and install is not bad
last IMO your numbers look real good for that SC
maybe try 15/20 de-pitched 2mm.....chasing rpms ...got to love it...lol

leave it alone until it cools off. I won't even turn on my GPS in this heat. I'll get discouraged and empty my wallet trying to get my speed back up Notice I only posted my RPMs? Now ya know!
