2002 Yamaha GP800 runs great until warm, then goes limp.

I have an 02 GP800 and it will start and idle fine, but as soon as I run it about 100yrds or when the engine gets some temperature in it, it goes into limp mode. Any suggestions?

    Carbs?

Shit, I caught myself, I was going to refer you to Oside Bill. Damn, such as shame he's no longer with us.

Check compression also. If borderline, can cause that when it goes from cold to warmed up.
