MoTeC Customer Service - My Story

If you want to hear an awesome customer service story, read on.

Long story short, I messed up my M130 ECU by installing a new battery and crossing the polarity for about 1.69 seconds. Every cuss word known to man could be heard in Fort Worth, Texas for miles!

After replacing the 2 blown fuses, my ski would not start and just looked for some dumbass’s key . After numerous checks I gave up and called Nils and explained my dilemma. We verified to my horror that power was in fact getting to the ECU. Yep, fried power supply. [email protected]#$%^& me!

I sent the ECU to motecusa in California and they verified the ECU was F’d up! Great…..”no worries mate, we will send it to Australia and get it checked out”. "Seriously, you will do this for me?"

They split the ECU apart, removed the potting material and fixed the damage power supply. Put it all back together, tested it, loaded the base tune and sent it back to motecusa.

I was only charged $200 for this service and shipping cost. I did not have to purchase a new ECU, thank God.

I re-installed my M130 today, re-loaded my tune and she fired right up!

Yes the MoTeC M130 is expensive, but it performs better than any other ECU or re-flash available. But I have to wonder, would ANY other company go through all of this for a customer that made a mistake?

Clearly this is the finest ECU and software on the planet and equally the finest customer service!

This is how it should be done!

    Sincerely,

    One happy customer!

    JT

Stop making such a strong case. My winter build budget is gone (plus some...) and I don't need to hear how wonderific this thing is. Geez

Kidding aside, that is stellar customer service. Stories like this are the best advertising money can't buy.

JPT as you know from Bob I purchased the M130 from the early batch that came into the country and I must agree with you 1000% that Motec customer support is out of this world. Nils and Pete both go above and beyond to support their product. I have no problem recommending any Motec product to anyone. They provide a great product and stand behind it 100%.

stock not much improvement but you can set the rev limit where ever you want
and then you can add more timing if you have good fuel...not possible with stock (v-tech says its coming)
data loging is the most important tool for any tuner...what does the stock system have for that?

Uuuuh.... Boost control. Dual map. Anti lag. Launch. Analog inputs for any sensor there is. Anti cavitation. Can network to add a dash individual cylinder tuning. Cruise control without and additional modules. Quick lambda. Lets see the stock ecu do any of that.
