Can I Switch Carb Racks From SLTX to SL1050?

Seems like a pointless question because they are both the same engine and same system, but the SLTX has a different style carb on it than the SL and the one on my SLTX is cleaner and recently rebuilt so I would rather just swap them. Can I?

Yes they can be swapped, some minor tunings maybe needed.

nope.the 96 sltx has 38mm keihins.the sl1050 has 40mm keihins and no accl pump.you can swap them but she won't run as hard and you'll need to rejet as the sl1050 and 96 sltx have a different water routing setup.

Yes the rack on the SLTX does have the accelerator pump, and thats what I was wondering basically was would i Have to make changes and would it affect performance. The SLTX is a 96 and the SL a 97, both racks are in great shape, just the one on the SL sat for awhile and still had the grey tempo lines originally so I know it needs a rebuild and was going to save it for later. What adjustments would need to be made to the SL in order to run with the 38mm? Or is it just a waste of time?

    how many carbs do u have 3 ? u need 3 kits ,

if u have a twin cylinder u need two kits

they have built in metal screens for fuel filters make sure u clean them good, and replace the needle should come in the kit

I got 3 rebuild kits from ebay 109 shipped, not oem

Carb from 96 SLTX would work fine on your 97 SL. Like TXPro1200 said, using the 38 mm you won't have acceleration as hard as the 40 mm.
Also, the 38 mm from 96 SLTX seems a bit lean compare to 97 SLTX (38 mm) so you may need to rejet MAG and PTO just to be safe.
Compare settings below, looks like you only need to get 148 hi jet to make it 97 SLTX setting:
    96 sltx
    M 142 | C 142 | P 138
    Mid 58
    Low 58
    Screw 1 turn

    97 sltx
    M 148 | C 142 | P 142
    Mid 58
    Low 55
    Screw 1 turn
