Save your arms! Use duct tape on your hull!

After itching and rubbing scratches on my arms after removing the OEM air intake stuff from my mod boat, I decided that the next time I needed to take off the cowling, I'd wrap the whole thing in duct tape to make the fiberglass edge of the engine bay a bit more user-friendly.

I had some black duct tape handy yesterday as I yanked the SC, and I'm very happy with how it turned out. However, I haven't put the cowling back on yet, so if there are any edges showing when I replace it (after the SC gets back from Jerry), I'll just remove and retape that section.

And maybe, just maybe, it's like slapping a "Type R" sticker on a Honda. It's worth at least +20HP, right?

I use blue painters tape, does the same thing and doesn't stick too much and leave residue behind.

    Cool stickers are 20+ hp..
Duct tape is only 10+ hp...

But cool stickers & duct tape give you 30+hp...

This only applies to Honda skis...

I've done this a couple times. The adhesive on the duct tape melts after a few runs from the heat and the tape will slide all over and look shitty. I would recommend painters tape during maintenance and then remove it as stated earlier.
