    R12x cavitation with 17/29 solas

    hi there, I hope there is someone out there who can help me.

    I have a stock r12x engine and jet unit combo in a boat
    I have cavitation issues of the line and every now and then if I boot it while its on plane

    I found the impellor to be way out of clearance (.65mm) so that has been fixed and it helped dramatically but I wouldn't mind getting rid of the cavitation completely from hole shot.

    I must add when engine/pump package was still in the ski it had the exact same problem.

    Would lowering the pitch on the impeller help me? say to like a 16/28 or even 15.5/28?
    don't want to loose too much top end if possible.

    And when I re pitch, do I adjust the whole blade or just a section of each blade?

    any help would be great.

    Get a prop gauge, and only the first 2 In of blade get bent

    On the leading or trailing edge? And what pitch would help me?

    I ran a 14.5/31 on my nodded ski
    Try a 14/28 actually pitch on ur stock ski
    As far as the side clearance ... I sent mine in and had impeller enlarged to within .004" of inner ring . I had to turn it with wrench 3-4 times before it spun freely at first but this made a 10x difference in hole shot .
    So u put motor /pump & pump tunnel I to a boat ?? We need pics u may be getting air into pump if bottom is 2flat .

    Ok cool thanks, yea when i enlarged my impellor i got nowhere near .004, but i only did it to check for any real difference, so i myt pull it of again and take some clearance out, i cant realy see the boat being the problem, as the performce is the same/ if not better than the ski, i have a thread in the jetboat section on it
