    error p1116

Posted this on the wrong board eariler. My apologies. Just realized that the hose leading to my thermostat had come off while riding yesterday. Got the p11116 code and limped home. See pic, but how does this hose attach. The is a o-ring inside the fitting but no clamp. Any help would be appreciated.

If the tabs are not broken! You can put a clamp around it!!

Tabs aren't broken or at least they appear to be ok but it is a loose fit. Cant figure how it originally sealed and putting a hose clamp around a plastic housing might crack it.

yes the hose clamp or t-bolt clamp is the easy and cheapest fix
most of us with 160 t-stats use a clamp on our housing with out any problems
now is the time for you to change to the 160 t-stat
the t-stat is not the best design but it works....most of the time...lol
looks like some one may have changed the t-stat because of the hose clamps
    oem used oetiker clamps

What does the cooler thermostat do for the ski?

Also, does it take quite a bit of force to reconnect the fitting? I figure that I only have one chance at it because it doesn't appear to go in too easily. I'll probably be replacing the o-ring as well. It seems stretched out.

And if I understand correctly, the hose clamp when snugged up just compesses the plastic fitting just enough to keep it from popping off, right?

Lower temp thermostat will keep the engine temps lower, is been proven that a 160* thermostat will inprove the life of this engines internal components! Read this link good info!

What year and model of ski?

In limp mode I guess the system stops circulating coolant and limits rpm?

It's an 06 RXT. Is it supposed to be very difficult to reattach the fitting. Mind doesn't want to go together without quite a bit of force. Any ideas?

Can anyone help me on this? Pic is included above but the thermo housing doesn't want to go back together easily. The tabs appear to all be in tact but I can't get the two fittings to fully seat. Has anyone else had this problem...without having to use quite a bit of force? I don't like forcing plastic. Please help...and thx.
