Stuck at 7100 rpm
Hey guys, I've have been reading non stop on this forum for weeks now, I've woken up threads from the dead with my issue. I'm stuck at 7100 rpm. I'm thinking it's an electrical problem at this point. I bought ski a few months and the test drive was the first run of the year since it was winterized by the previous owner. Battery was replaced before buying. I test drove it and it being my first ski i didn't notice the rpms which were around 7100. And the speed sensor was broken. I use gps for measuring speed now. It pulled well compare to my buddies rxt so I bought it.
Well I had to take to the dealer to turn the VTS on since it reset itself during the battery replacement, which it does work. Since then I've been desperately trying to figure out my low rpm issue.
So far I've replaced the wear ring and reconditioned the prop. Rebuilt the supercharger, changed the oil and filter, spark plugs. Performed a compression test (135 all cyl) and pressure tested the intercooler. Also pressure tested for boost leaks. I've installed the knock sensor pigtail per recall, which only gave me a check engine light.
I'm really needing some new ideas. What kind of electronic issues have robbed skies of 1000 rpm? Thanks you guys, this forum is the best out there.

Have you tried a different ecu

Is the impeller stock?
Someone could have put the wrong impeller on it?
Put a fresh set of plugs in it after the 1st tank of the season not before. I've seen old fuel ruin a new set of plugs.

No I haven't. I might be able to borrow one. It runs smooth, no hesitations, idles great.

It had a few full tanks before the plug replacement. I guess it wouldn't hurt to put fresh ones in at this point. And definitely check the gap before hand. I wish I can check timing during some runs on the water. Maybe the ecu is pulling some timing for some reason.

Impeller appears to be stock, measured pretty close to a 13/18. I'm going to be swapping out props once my buddy finds his spareoone

So Noone has ever loss these many rpms due to an electrical issue?

If he used stabil then I'd say jelly in the injectors.

I definitely can ask, I can take a look at the spray pattern

And when you said you installed the knock sensor pigtail, did you have the dealer clear the codes and run the update for it? If not, that is probably the problem! Once its updated and codes for knock cleared you should be back at full rpms. Ask me how I know....been there done that
