2012 RXP-X True Cost of Ownership

I've been keeping a running total of all my PWC related expenses. If there is enough interest I'll try to keep it up to date.

Just finished my first year with my new 2012 RXPX.

    2013 Season (34 hours)

    Cost per hour:
Fuel: $20.22/hour (On the water I pay $1.69/L, on land I pay $1.39/L, probably average a 50/50 split)
    Actual Maintenance Costs: $12.89/hour
    Future Maintenance (Charger rebuild): $4.94/hour
    Insurance: $16.17/hour

So, for the 34 hours I put on it this year, my cost was $54.22/hour

If you wanted to add estimated depreciation in to the mix, the cost would increase to $216.02/hour

So far my repair list is as follows:
22 hours - IAT sensor failure
42 hours - drain plug housing spins in place

I should have put this in the title but this is in Canada.

Those repairs wouldn't be covered under the warranty?

Yes, the repairs were under warranty, but subject to a $50 co-pay.

I was thinking of my hourly cost the other day, it's scary expensive. You gotta pay to play I guess.

Hate to say it but this sport is more expensive than prostitutes and crack. Especially when you are chasing them extra few MPH

Yes I agree I run 2skis and spend more than I spend on my boat with twin motors but I enjoy the skis more than my boat
