As someone who has started with x4's back in the day, I think this will be the best small/FUN ski we will ever see again. In a perfect world it would have more HP out of the box (thinking 130hp xpl's), but for a safe/fun entry ski is will be ideal. I have been going back and forth trying to figure out what to get specifically for wave jumping, and this might be the ticket. No nano, no carbon ring, sub 450# = good times. Will be interesting to see what kind of bottom end pull this lil thing has. Xpl's and GPR's are still great, but I am just over 2 smokes. (Rebuild intervals, poor fuel economy, etc.) I'm sure the lake & surf scenes will be blowing up next Spring.

IMO the xpl's were the best all around jumpers ever made. I recently stepped up to the SHO platform which is amazing, just kinda miss the in da air factor. Now I'm looking for a 4 stroke jumper & think this lil Spark might be the ticket. The bigger points have already been made by others - This should really help to revitalize our dwindling sport. Just hope all of the newbs don't cause any more blemishes on our PWC image. The should offer a complimentary IQ test & boating safety course with each one purchased!

Coolest ski in a long time. If it can compare performance wise to my 1995 xp800, I will buy two in a heart beat.

Yamaha, take note. There are still people who want, and can ride a small ski.

Even a modest size power boat should be able to carry one on the swim platform.

Absolutely brilliant if it accelarates and can run mid 50's like the old xp's.

    They out vxr'd the VXR.

I'll probably buy one the second model year after Jerry and others put them through a workout. I was actually starting to look for a cheap '96 XP as wavejumper/small fun ski. This however looks like it might be the ticket. I've been lamenting the fact that all newer craft are so large for a while now. I love my FZR, but sometimes I'd like to just play around on a small, nimble ski, but only option is skis from almost two decades ago.
