Trying to get the most out of my jet pump (impellers)

I have a polaris sl 900 and I am trying to increase lanch speed and trying to get my top end over or close to 60mph. So far 54 has been the best I can do in semi choppy water.
I have a few questions on pump and impellers. First I have a new nujet impeller I was thinking of using but it is a PL A 5.0 and the application chart says I need a PL A 6.0. The pitch I belive is a 13/18 pitch on the 5.0 and 14/22 or something on the 6.0. Would this make me loose power? the pitch on the pump I am using now is unknown it just says Polaris.
The other question is: I have a 5 vein pump with a rather thick wedge on it and I was thinking of changing to the six vein SS pump and removing the wedge. Would this be the correct way to set up the SS Six vein?
The last question is on the five vein pump I have the thick side of the wedge on the right side of the pump. Is this correct?

Pump wedge always has the thickest portion at the bottom.

The stainless steel 6 vane stator is a more efficient design, but it does not affect the wedge angle you will need.

Other factors determine optimal wedge angle. To improve top speed significantly will require multiple small changes, all done just right.

What ride plate do you have on there now?

What is the rider weight? How much stuff do you keep in the front storage compartment?

Are you looking for best speed on very smooth water or good speed on somewhat choppy water?

I believe the ride plate is stock, but intake grate is a solas. riders weight is around 200 to 210 and there is about a pound of stuff in the trunk.
The ski was a basket case when I got it so I went by exploded parts diagrams to put it together and have been running with the wedge on the right, maybe that is why right turns are a bit strained.

I am looking for top speed on semi smooth water, we never see glassy water.

Well, start by correctly repositioning the pump wedge. Do some test riding, see where you are at.

Is the pump wedge black? Either plastic or painted metal.

The wedge is black and made of metal and the thickness of a dime on the thick end.

This could also be a twisted wedge, which may be misleading. The twisted wedge is thickest at one of the corners, not uniformly across one side....

If you go to the 6 vane, replace the twisted wedge with a straight 4 degree. Keep in mind, if you replace that wedge, you will have to replace the water inlet tube too. The stock one is too long to use with a standard wedge.

54 MPH is slow for a 900. Your choices in intake grates may be slowing you down. What is the peak RPM you are seeing? A Nujet 5.0 is not enough prop for that engine. THe 6.0 is correct. My 900 ran 58MPH and it was bone stock.
