    Question for East Cost riders

May be a dumb question, however when is it considered the last "ride" of the season, or can you go out in the water let's say November with a wetsuit.. or no.

When the air temp is still around 55* and water temp still above 50* or so no lower! ..don't care how thick a wetsuit.

In NY /NJ/PA area that time is usually around the end of Nov.but some guys go all year with temps in 20s and water temp in the 40s..BURRR

Yes and water conditions with swells and such usually are best in fall. More importantly is the highly anticipated first ride usually in march or early April. Anything below that 55/50 air/water temp range just gets nasty.

Keep in mind there are a lot fewer boaters in Nov-Dec etc,you don't want to breakdown or have to jump in the water with a quick fix like a clogged intake unless you have to in 45-48* water..always have a riding buddy and try to stay no more than 1/4 mile from shore...don't wanna have a breakdown in the middle of nowhere in cold air and water temps, but a thick wetsuit , neoprene gloves, boots, socks and hat and goggles will make your end of the yr riding more enjoyable
