1996 Sea Doo XP Carb to Flame arrestor question? Lock Tite? Liquid gasket? Red stuf

Tore off my flame arrestor (air box) and carbs and re did all the fuel lines and cleaned carbs and put it all together. When I took it apart when I took off the flame arrestor, the last piece that is flush metal that attaches to the carbs had a reddish liquid between the flush metal carbs and the flush metal flame arrestor piece. I ended up cleaning this up before I put everything back together. Just checking to see if I should take it back off and put this red stuff back in between the 2 parts? Otherwise it's back together and I am ready to ride but that was on the back of my mind.

What is that red stuff between the 2? Really could use some advice if it is ok to ride without it in there otherwise I would like to take it apart and put the red stuff in before this weekend. (supposed to be one of the last nice days for the year)

    Thanks alot in advance guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cant find anything online about the reddish stuff between the 2 parts. There wasn't a gasket between the 2 parts so I am thinking its kind of like a liquid gasket type stuff. It's red anyone know what it is otherwise I will leave it clean and roll this weekend and see what happens. Just hate to drive up north and have problems.

Alright I found the information. Just thought id answer my own question. It's Loctite 518. Hard to find in a store around here checked everywhere. Found it online and have to wait until mid week next week to get it.

Keep the rest of the 518 around to seal your venturi to jetpump connection.

That's not a high risk joint..I'd spray some high tack on it and be done. But since it's on the way might as well do it correctly.

518 is really hard to find outside of a couple of auto parts store that carry it. It's specialty stuff..shouldn't be however....

Clean your fingers well after handling..or better use throwaway vinyl gloves. That crap irritates my skin badly.
