    Polaris FAST Quick Trim Motor Gearbox, HOW TO disassemble and re-assemble








    Screw driver is pointing at a spacer, this MUST be here for it to work properly

    This is how to disassemble the gear box in your Trim motor. you will notice the photo where a screw driver is pointing at something, this is a spacer, this MUST be here, for it to work. Most of the time when opening a trim motor, these gears like to just go everywhere, Hopefully this helps in getting it put back together, this is infact how to remove the gears in order, assembly is in the reverse order!

    There was 2 spacers when I did mine but, my gear configuration is different from what u have pictured. There's no tellin if anyone had been in mine before me. Been workin great all season tho!

    I should have specified this is for a fast trim motor

    Bryan,

    Can you reupload that picture of your Trim motor onto this thread. that would show the correct way a slow trim should be configured. and spacer locations

    As you can see in this photo there are 2 red arrows. that is the location the spacers go in. this would be for the SLOW trim setup. the FAST trim, has a spacer under one of the gears that prevents it from going all the way down as in this picture it is..it almost looks like they used the same gears just in a different configuration

    For reference, post up the Polaris part numbers for the two different trim gearboxes.

    And which watercraft models/years the faster 'double speed' trim motor was used with.
