Replacing Top End Kawasaki 750 ST

I am rebuilding my 94 Kawasaki 750 ST Jet Ski. I am now ready to install the cylinder on the pistons and want too find out the best way too do this. The pistons are hung and ready but I am having trouble with compressing the ring so that it will pass into the cylinder.

    Anyone have any advise?

    Bob

It's easier if you have a helper, but one person can do it. The bottom of the cylinders is tapered to help get the rings started in. You can use a commercially made ring compressor that has a quick release band, but some I've seen are too wide to fit between the cylinder and crankcase. Now I just use a large worm gear hose clamp to squeeze the rings.
