Stock exhaust mani mod
In 2012, I cut off the manifold's stinger and made a reverse megaphone into a tiny water box/muffler with a 3inch exit. Not too loud, not much of the usual 3cyl burble at low rpm, and freed up a lot of space.
At the beginning of this year I decided to get rid of the stinger section and water cool the last few non-jacketed inches. A v-band clamps it directly to the piping to the ss water box. The ss box's welds are horrible, I know, but it works very well. I wanted a better, deeper tone with zero burble. The thru hull is a 3.5 with a balance tube (may or may not work) with a line for the intercooler/hx dump. It sounded mean.
Next year's build has started and I'm keeping the stock mani (header #2 didn't work either) and v-banding an all new aluminum jacketed piping and box.
