Sundance waterbox hose mod
Anyone have a part number and or source for the Sundance(Ray) exhaust hose that is used to move the stock waterbox further back on the PX/TX ?
Could not locate it searching the forum and it seems like it may have been a Mercruiser item.

Its 4" marine exhaust hose. I bought some a local marina that repairs boats(inboards).

Thanks JP, I may try the stock waterbox again so I am looking to see what would be the best choice.

From experience the best thing for exhaust in marine applications is silicone couplers particular four ply. The one I bought for my turbo ski after the marine inboard failed from a loose hose cost 50 bucks for a 8 inch piece. It has since got to 400f once (pump plug),The heat rating is 400-500 f. The problem with that marine inboard hose When or if gets hot ( do to a circumstance) it does not expand it blows. If it was not for a hell of a bilge pump and a shore being 5 ft away my ski would be the titanic.

SD has been using the marine exhaust hose since 08 without problems on SC'ed skis. Maybe not the right stuff for a turbo, but just fine on a SC'ed ski.

Jp when I hear of that Hose it Makes me cringe ( I think of The Orange Subamraine lol), It wont take alot of heat, Yes they do come from factory (Thats why I went to It) with the same hose. West Marine carries it, My worry is if you have a issue to wear the exhaust overheats how that hose reacts. My hose Location was at the Tail end as Seen in Picture

Ran the same piece of 4" hose x 6" on three different SC'ed skis. I am sure over 150 hours or more without one problem. This mod makes it easy to R&R the SCer thats the only real reason to do it to me.
I am sure you will have problem, if you run it hot or dry. The waterbox will not like it either.
This rig has gone 50-75 hours on my conversion.

Im actually running it just in a different location, but I can't always rely on it and when it came on in which it did as You Know the pipes will only get hotter Once You shut the Motor Off. Motor was shut off I heard a "pop" and my ski was halfway under water. I have got my silicone coupling up to 375f Once when my pump strainer/plug blew out at 20 Psi and 9k rpm .
