    xl1200 ltd shaft trouble

    Hello and thank you for reading this I'm having a bit of trouble with my xl 1200 ltd 1999. I was having trouble with a coupler shaft the shaft rust and ripped a chunk out of it I sourced a new shaft fitted it after sliding engine forwads a place to ski back together with the new intermediate shaft I slippedthe pump unit in to finance the unit did not sit flush any would be proudI have placed everything back as well it was any idea what's wrong

    Spin the driveshaft slightly as you push the pump in to get the splines to slide in togetehr. Or you have the wrong intermediate shaft and will need a shorter driveshaft to make it easy on yourself

    I'm pretty sure the spline are in asi feel it goes just seems strange I was messing around with the drive shaft as well I loosened the main nut and gave it a few whack was gonna take it out but diddnt look like it moved so I stopped this may explain it im hoping

    might have the wrong intermediate shaft, there are 2 types one for a 28 inch shaft and one for a 30 inch shaft you need the one for the 30 inch shaft.
