    Question regarding winterization?

I am going to be putting the jet skis on the hose (or at least cranking them) for a couple minutes each month during the fall and winter. Should I fog the cylinders in between each cycle or should I be ok. Tanks will be full of non-ethanol and skis will be inside the garage.

I think fogging the cylinders is a waste. Had my Honda fogged last year and it fouled a plug first time out this year. Not worth it.

Fogging for winter is a must! Fouling a plug is a small price to pay considering the alternative. I always change my plugs in the spring after I have run the ski for the first time.

    worst advice and justification ever

the true waste is losing a $2k engine for $2 worth of spray oil

Tbird, after an engine is started for summer prep and the fogging oil is burned off the plugs have to be cleaned or replaced

The skis will stay inside a garage that gets no cooler than 45 degrees. So is fogging still a must, given my circumstances?

yup. fogging is a must anytime the ski/boat sits unused for any signififant length of time ( some older PWC manuals exclaim that you must fog the engine if the ski won't be used for as little as two weeks!

    to explain...

half the water in your muffler evaporates and heads out the back..the OTHER half wants to set up shop in your engine..ANY WAY IT CAN

    try this..

take a little steel wool..out in in a bowl. put 1 oz of water in the bowl and come back in a week.

that's how fast a motor can rust internally

Guess I never thought of it that way. My thought was that the anti-freeze wouldn't cause rust/condensation issues like lake or domestic water from a hose sitting in the exhaust would.
