How long before i can expect problems?

I just bought my first ski, a 2002 GTX 4Tec Limited N/A, about a month ago with 115hrs. Oil had been changed and the wear ring replaced by the previous owner. After seeing a lot of threads on here with people having problems and needing repairs...im wondering how long i can expect to go before something major needs to be replaced/repaired. As far as i can tell the ski has been babied its whole life, everything looks and works great for now. How many hours can be expected out of the motor before it needs to be rebuilt if it's taken care of?

I have all of the supplies to properly winterize the ski, change the motor oil and jet pump oil/grease before winter and plan to do MOST general maintenance myself as long as i can find how-tos on here

How long the motor lasts is almost completely in how well its been maintained and how well you are going to maintain it.
I've seen them with over 1000 hours.

There is no set time for issues or problems.

Generically speaking, 400 hours is common On the 4-tec engines.

As noted, it really depends on how you ride it an take care of it.

I've seen a majority of the issues with skis that are not stored correctly or that have been sitting for years without being used.

If you use it and take care of it properly it will give you many more hours of fun.

the local rental guy here routinely exceeds 500 hours on his NA 130 4-tecs

oil-change-oil-change-oil-change-winterizing are the key to long engine life.

hey a little luck doesn't hurt either.

The 02 GTX 4tec had a tendency for the crank to snap at the pto output. Seen a few in like condition this summer. Good thing it doesn't do damage if it goes. Saw one at 107 and at 218 hours. First year of anything has a few more issues than 2nd or 3rd gen.

Eeek...first i've seen about that. Would it be wise to have it replaced asap?

Also im considering changing out the oil sensors for the newer ones this winter since i've seen that they were known to fail...would i be able to tell if they were already changed to the new ones?
