Replacing SL-750 engine
Quick question, I just found a used SL-750 engine. Each of the three pistons show atleast 130#. Other than looking through the spark plug hole and trying to inspect the pistons, what other quick checks can be done to tell if the engine may have hidden problems. Used engine is dirt cheap, less than 500.00 Now I can rebuild my current engine and hopefully have a spare to sell or just incase I need it.

Welcome to the hulk......
You can remove the water cooling rail (6) bolts, then remove the domes off of each cyclinder (6 bolts each for a total of 18. Then you can easily view the tops of the pistons, and the cyclinder walls. Will not take very long to do.

comgod33 WELCOME to the GREEN HULK FORUMS!!!!
The first thing I would do is ensure the crank index is good.
