    Help: Over-voltage on SUV 1200

Need help with over-voltage problem on 2000 SUV. With engine off voltage at battery is 12.5. Engine running voltage at battery climbs to past 16.8 volts. Manual says it should regulate from 14.5 to 15.5. Tried another voltage regulator, no help. Cleaned all ground connections inside electrical box, no help, voltage still climbs too high. Have a MAT battery if that matters. The Fluke meter I'm using checks OK with known voltage. Any ideas would be great. Thanks, Will

Have you had any issues with popped fuses? Its odd the volatage would climb that high and not pop the fuse

you want to get to the bottom of this quick as high voltage will start toasting various expsneive bits

The replacement regulator was from a GP1200 with same PN as mine. Not popping any fuses yet and everything else seems normal. Might be time to try another regulator?

take a look a the regulator connector. if that's bugged up..could lead to overvoltage. Good contact is essential
