    Next Ski???

    Hello, Members

I am selling my 2009 Yamaha FXSHO soon! I am looking at buying new jet ski for next season! I really like Seadoo RXPX-260 and Yamaha FZR! I dont know which I should go? I am leaning towards 2013 or 14' Seadoo RXPX-260 Any help or comments will help me alot! Thanks

Why are you selling the SHO? It's barely getting broken in.

Jumping and turns like its on rails is the px 260.

    Better hole shot,
    Way better turning
    Way better stopping
Much more solid when wave jumping..

Px 260 looks and performs better than any sho.

    No comparing the 2.

And yes I've had a few sho skis and a few px 260 skis.
Real life experience riding the balls off both.

    What changes?
Does the Svho come with a brake?
There is no better turning ski made out of the box than a RXPX.

Great question! I've owned both boats and my response is "it depends". The only time I liked the RXPX was at full throttle in the turns and the rough. It is a phenomenal hull in this application. I spend a lot of time cruising and I just didn't like the feel and fuel consumption of the boat (compared to the FZ hull). The FZ hull is more responsive and feels lighter. I don't ride on big enough water to give an opinion on the jumping qualities. I think the new "V" version of the Yamaha will be a better contender so you'll have to take that into consideration. It will be a tough call for you.

Here is a different approach. Just keep your SHO & buy a new "Spark". Then you won't lose any of the $ you have already spent, and for around 6k you will have have a real jumper. I would think you are not getting any large waves (except for the occasional boat wake) in Ohio, so if you just wanna jump & play - 400# is where it's at. Plus, you will still have a nice 3 seater to cruise and tow with. All for around what you are thinking of spending on a new 900# ski. Just try one of your buddies xp's (95'-96' x4 or 97-04 xp/xpl) for comparison & see if that does it for you. They will have a lil more power than a new stock Spark, but should give you a good idea of what a real "play" ski is all about.

I hate to even stir the pot with all the brand crap - But IMO, yes the 12+ px turns harder than anything else, but me being 40 yo plus it just wears my ass out. Since this is the Yami side, I gotta say the 14' SVHO is all that, turns on a dime, unlimited mod potential & bang for your buck. And do you really wanna start comparing hole shots - now that we will have a real pump setup & more boost? Can't wait for the first real world "let's line em up". For the OP's question - The new FZ SVHO and current PX are both kick ass skis, just don't think they will be what you are looking for.

Regardless of the whole Doo vs Yami thing, I would still recommend that the OP does a lil homework on the soon to be released Seadoo Spark.
