Thread: Vtechtuned: Spark

Even with the 40 knot winds here in Melbourne, Australia, we were able to test a few of the maps for the spark that are currently available.
-Much improved power delivery up to the top rpm
-Some of the "jump" limiters have been played with and on test you can feel there is no "let off" of power up in the high rpm when contact with the water has been lost for short periods.
-Top speed increase was just noticable, but conditions weren't perfect to judge by how much
-RPM control is much more "crisp" even on the limiter.
-Mild timing increases yielded some nice RPM increases
We want to test some of the more aggressive maps in the next week or so.
The maptuner and logger both worked beautifully on the new ski.
Overall I was also impressed with the handling and the "less is more" concepts throughout the ski.
Seadoo is on a winner.

Great to hear ...
So 60hp can be reflashed to 90hp or to 100hp + ???

Why would you bother? The 90 HP option is like $600 Retail premium over the 60 HP. To buy a VTECH tool and credit is $900. If you already have the tool, it is a $600 charge.
And to spend $600 to go from 46 to 48 MPH? Yeah, I know we all spend more than that to chase 2 MPH on the SC craft, but this is in the chase to push the boundaries of the fast skis. On a little runabout like this it really doesn't make much sense....

It will take u over 90hp ...
105hp ish , they still testing and seeing the gains ...
Here at Australia the 90 hp is another $1000 more ...

Case in point, you guys really get soaked on soft drinks. I just cannot understand why a bottle of Bundaberg Ginger Beer costs me $4 if I buy it in a store in Brisbane, but I can buy it here in the US for $2 a bottle. It obviously costs a lot of money to ship this stuff all the way here, so why is this? Have the soft drink companies banded together and control pricing?

So if you plan on a reflash & don't want IBR, there is NO reason to buy the 90hp over the 60hp correct?

Thats if you can get your hands on a 60hp version. They'll be in limited supply.
