    Starter Bendix

    I need a new starter bendix for a 951.

There are some really ones on ebay at about US$30

Anyone have any experience if they are any good ?

Buy a used OEM one. Heard of the aftermarket ones only lasting a few rides.

I've been using cheap starters for a few years problems on MY side. Cheap starters will not hold up to abuse as well as an oem one..which is why they are 1/4 of the price.

Duty coming into NZ must be killer however....

Cheap bendix drives can, and WILL explode. I have seen parts damage the magneto, flywheel, crank cases, and even front seal.

It is the old saying, you get what you pay for. Good clean, used fresh water OE, or new OE only....
